PSYCHOTHERAPY
I’d like to share a little about the way I work and my values. I believe that healing in our lives comes in many ways, but usually it is tied to relationships that have kindness, respect, and patience. It is my aspiration in working with individuals to incorporate these values. I bring this sensibility to my work through focusing on the present and noticing how our lives have a natural rising and falling quality to them. I understand that some issues in our lives may take quite a bit of time and effort to address, while other issues may be quick and lasting change comes with less effort. Either way, I value meeting people where they are at and helping to guide people along a path of positive transformation.
My Buddhist background has taught me that most people have the wisdom they already need to approach their life’s challenges, but often this wisdom gets clouded over by our inability to view ourselves clearly. With this in mind, I see my role as a therapist as helping people tap into their clear seeing or wisdom, and applying that deep knowing to whatever the issues are that brought them to therapy.
I have experience in working with people who are having a difficult time due to anxiety, painful relationships, depression, lack of significant connection to others, trauma from childhood or adulthood, struggling with life transitions, confusion, and those who want to explore deepening their relationship to themselves or others. I see the therapy as a time and place for each person to seek what they need and the support to help make their life better. Therapy is a collaborative process between myself and the person seeking therapy. This means we jointly create a therapeutic process that addresses your needs. |
