ABOUT

I have Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from JFK University and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist [Ca. # 43030.] In my private practice I combine my training as a psychotherapist with my years of Buddhist mindfulness and meditation practice. I value genuineness, authenticity, and understanding what is occurring at any given moment. Whether it brings laughter, or knowledge about what causes us pain, or the ability to see how our lives are filled with change and movement, I see therapy as an opportunity to open to ourselves over and over again. My approach is holistic, incorporates the body, mind, and spirit.

I have training in EMDR, mindfulness psychology, humanistic, psychodynamic and somatic approaches.

My work history has included community mental health, alcohol/drug treatment, care coordination, psychotherapy, and program development and administration positions. I have psychotherapy experience with individuals, couples and groups. In my private practice I have experience working with gay/lesbian/bi-sexual/transgender/questioning [GLBTQ] clients, adults dealing with the effects of traumatic childhoods (abuse, alcoholic families, poor boundaries, etc.,) substance abuse/recovery, life transitions, phobias, anxiety, and spiritual questioning/exploration. I have been trained in EMDR, which is a technique that is very effective in helping people with issues around past trauma, anxiety, phobias, PTSD, and other life stressors.

The Nature of this Flower is to Bloom
Rebellious. Living.
Against the Elemental Crush
A Song of Color
Blooming
For Deserving Eyes.
Blooming Gloriously
For Its Self.
